The Language, Reading & Culture M.A. program provides students with a foundational understanding of the concepts, methods, and theories related to language, reading, and culture. Emphasis is placed on developing abilities and competencies that lead to improvements in teaching and learning processes within the classroom. The program focuses on language and literacy theory, research, and practice. A specially designed sequence of required courses is available to acquire a K-12 Reading Endorsement for the state of Arizona, preparing teachers to be reading specialists or Chapter I teachers.
The program has a wide range of courses and experiences available to graduate students. As a student in the program, you must select or design a focus area that aligns with your interests and goals.
