2018 Outstanding Language Arts Educator Award from the National Council of Teachers of English

2016 George and Louise Spindler Award

 

Perry Gilmore, professor in the Department of Teaching, Learning and Sociocultural Studies and the Department of Second Language Acquisition and Teaching, was awarded the 2016 George and Louise Spindler Award from the Council on Anthropology and Education. The council, a section of the American Anthropological Association, works to promote social equity through anthropological research.

The award recognizes ongoing contributions in educational anthropology from researchers or practitioners who have been distinguished, exemplary or inspirational in the field.

Gilmore's nomination characterized her body of work as "significant, ongoing, distinguished, exemplary and inspirational."

Gilmore has been at the UA since 2000.
