Internship Description 
We'd welcome an intern to become a close-knit part of our organization allowing them to join our Board meetings, attend events and gain experience in additional areas of interest. We are looking for someone with Microsoft Office experience for help updating documents for our Start Smart Salary Negotiation courses; Experience or a want to learn social media/marketing on Facebook and Instagram platforms would be a plus

Duties

• Assisting with Start Smart Salary Negotiation Courses at the University of Arizona; i.e. updating documents for dates, classes, Zoom Chat (when online) - Creating social media content for Facebook/Instagram via our resources (i.e. Canva) and paired with a Board Member to shadow as needed
• Helping with in-person and online events like monthly meetings, Women's Equality Day, mixers, and Board Meetings - if available and does not conflict with class schedule

Position Details 
Local site varies, but typically Wednesday evenings. Flexible hours, always set by Intern's schedule; some weekend events

The Cooper Center for Environmental Learning is a project of the University of Arizona College of Education, educating people of all ages with a goal of inspiring them to live more lightly on the Earth with work that includes programs for grades K–12, outreach across the UArizona campus, community events, professional development for educators, training for future teachers and research on effective environmental education.

Internship Description 
Outdoor environmental teaching positions include working with students PreK-12 from Southern Arizona public and private schools to encourage the hands-on learning and exploration of the Sonoran Desert. Training is provided based on the Cooper Center’s Mission Statement and the ideals of the Institute for Earth Education in order to “emphasize understanding of basic ecological processes, develop positive feelings for the natural world, and make personal lifestyle changes.”

Duties

• Lead and assist several educational programs for children in grades PreK-12 in outdoor settings or virtually (program training provided)
• Participate in program-related tasks including planning, setup, materials design, and maintenance
• Assist with curriculum development for new programming initiatives, including digital programming and experiences for preschool and high school learners
• Assist with field experience logistics including group arrivals and departures and managing students and adults during trips
• Intern led project, dependent on your interests. Some examples: Create and lead a PD session, conduct research related to PK12 environmental education, or write an intriguing article on the topic.

Position Details 
Location: 5403 W. Trails End Road, 85745  Intern would need to have their own transportation to the site or be willing to participate in carpooling.

Schedule: mainly Monday through Friday, mornings and/or afternoons with some weekend events, hours are flexible

Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) is a community outreach program that is connected to the Sierra Club. ICO provides opportunities for urban youth and young adults to explore, enjoy, and protect the natural world. ICO provides outdoor opportunities to people that would not otherwise have them, including low-income youth of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. ICO is made up entirely of volunteers who organize a variety of adventures, including hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, caving, horseback riding and service learning.

Internship Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic graduate student who:

• Enjoys being in the outdoors
• Aspires to the goal of providing youth, especially from disadvantaged populations the opportunity of being in the outdoors in the form of hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, caving, horseback riding and service learning
• Enjoys the skill of communicating on multi-levels with our volunteers, agencies, youth, program leaders, and on social media

An intern will need to clear our typical background check or provide a fingerprint card.

Duties
Marketing and Recruitment

• Design recruiting and marketing materials to attract new volunteers and new agencies.
• Assist with marketing strategies and presentations to schools and agencies in the form of disseminating information to students and teachers, producing brochures, developing powerpoint displays, creating flyers and maintaining ICO’s social media presence

Technology and Social Media support

• Manage ICO’s social accounts Facebook and Instagram (updating trip pictures and information). Manage trip outing schedule calendar

Club administrative support

• Assist/Coordinate/Lead day hikes as a volunteer or leader
• Attend monthly meetings and assist with transcribing meeting sessions
• Help manage equipment and gear inventory
• Help develop educational components for outings such as local ecology and environmental issues
• Assist in grant writing and researching grant opportunities or fundraising for ICO
• Assist ICO chair with other club administrative duties

Position Details
Business Hours: Flexible -Outings are mostly on weekends.

The location depends on where outings are located. Transportation is helpful, but not required. The intern is expected to attend some (not all) of the outings, as they occur which are generally on weekends.

ICO meeting is held 2nd Tuesday each month, 6-7:45 PM held in the College of Education or UA library.

Make Way for Books is an early literacy nonprofit that provides proven programs (professional development, coaching and family engagement), services, and resources to more than 30,000 young children, parents, and educators throughout southern Arizona each year. Our mission is to give all children the chance to read and succeed. 

Internship Description
We are looking for an intern to assist with the programming provided by Make Way for Books. Our goal is to provide a learning experience for a student to gain skills and experience in early childhood education and effective early literacy programs in Pima County. 

Duties

• Model effective book usage and storytelling practices
• Provide program support for in person workshops with educators (preparation, documentation, programming)
• engage in literacy and reading activities with 3-14 yr-old immigrant children at Casa Alitas shelter
• Support our internal book intake process, inventory and storage of materials
• Assist in the end of programming interview process for quality assurance

SARSEF’s mission is creating Arizona’s future critical thinkers and problem solvers through science and engineering.

Internship Description 
With SARSEF, every Arizona student has the opportunity to discover their potential as a scientist or engineer solving problems big and small. SARSEF uses a comprehensive programming model that supports students, teachers, and families so that students can think critically and solve problems through science and engineering. We couldn’t be successful without recognizing and telling the stories of our participants. 

As a SARSEF’s Storytelling Intern, the successful candidate will interview and write about one SARSEF participant or alum a month throughout the duration of the internship.

Monthly Duties

• Work directly with Program Managers to identify current participants and alumni to be highlighted in SARSEF Spotlights
• Schedule time to meet with the highlighted individual
• Write a blog post that tells the individual’s story with SARSEF to a broad audience in a way that feels genuine to the highlighted individual
• Provide photo and/or video to accompany the story
• Other opportunities to participate in telling SARSEF’s story are available if the successful candidate is interested in expanding on duties above

Position Details

The position can be completed remotely or SARSEF on the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona campus.
