Dylan Barton

Dylan Barton is a University of Arizona Fellow and doctoral candidate in the School Psychology program. He believes that social justice more broadly and educational justice are inextricably linked. As such, Dylan envisions a transformation of K-12 schools into sites of early intervention and societal equity: places where we can identify and implement the supports needed to improve the lives of our most vulnerable students.  His dissertation focuses on understanding how early mechanisms of the special education referral process contribute to the inappropriate over-representation of ethnic/racial minority students in special education.
