Future Teachers Club
"Make friends, make connections, make a difference!"
Our Mission
The objectives of the Future Teachers Club are to promote interest in and knowledge about the teaching profession; to provide fellowship among students, faculty, and community professionals, and to provide opportunities for future educators to develop professional skills through experiential learning. The Future Teachers Club is an ASUA (Associated Students of the University of Arizona) student organization and is open to all university students.
About FTC
The Future Teachers Club is an organization that assists in preparing future teachers with their eventual teaching expedition. The club prepares students for applications, interviews, leadership skills and helpful classroom tips that are so important in the development of quality teachers.
By bringing in distinguished teachers and administrators from the Tucson area, FTC is further integrated into the teaching community and more acquainted with the situations surrounding us in the educational community. Currently we provide tutoring services at Menlo Park Elementary School. Menlo Park is classified as an "underperforming" school largely serving underprivileged children. Members work directly with youngsters in computer technology as well as in math and reading.
FTC members also assist each other as we step out into the teaching world. In having interactive socials and exciting fund-raisers, we benefit through the club while enjoying ourselves.
