TTE 510. Advanced Science Methods (3). An exploration of various instructional strategies used in science instruction. The topics include multicultural science education, issue-based science education, inquiry instruction, evaluation and assessment. P. TTE 338H.
TTE 520. The School Curriculum: Science (3). Elementary and secondary science curricula in terms of aims, content/processes, instructional methods and assessment. These science curricula are placed within a historical perspective and examined from a theoretical and research base.
TTE 523. Curriculum Issues and Practices: Science (3). Current issues in science education and their application to classroom instructional practices and procedures. Topics based upon recent concerns and developments.
TTE 596A. Topics in Teacher Education - History and Philosophy of Science (3) This course examines the work of philosophers who have contributed to our understanding of science and analyzes the historical development that has occured in science. Students will be required to understand how the history and philosophy of science impacts science instruction in the classroom, examine the work of philosophers and apply the history and philosophy of science to some aspect of class instruction.
TTE 596C. Topics in Teacher Education - How Children Learn Science (3). Seminar class that looks at various theories of how children learn science. Students will be required to explore their instruction through the lens cognitive theory. Weekly discussions based on reading from cognitive theorists on childrens learning of science from Piaget to Vygotsky.

TTE 501. Teaching and Learning Mathematics with Technology (3) I For a description of course topics see TTE 401. Graduate level requirements include an additional research paper and presentation. May be convened with TTE 401.
TTE 521. Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Curriculum (3) Elementary and middle school mathematics curricula in terms of their aims, content/processes, instructional methods and assessment. These mathematics curricula are placed within a historical perspective and examined from a theoretical and research base. P, TTE 326 or TTE 338Y.

TTE 532. Mathematics Diagnosis and Remediation (3) The nature and causes of student's difficulties in mathematics, diagnostic techniques, and the development of prescriptive principles of remedial instruction in mathematics. P, TTE 326.
