Big Brothers Big Sisters
Volunteer Mentors Needed ASAP for Mentor 2.0!
The school year is just beginning and Big Brothers/Big Sisters needs your help gathering 50 mentors. In a nutshell, this new program matches volunteer mentors with 9th grade students at Amphi High School. Once a week, the mentor participates in a 30 minute online conversation with the student. Questions are provided by the program leadership. This generates conversation about education and other areas of life. Once a month, the volunteer mentor would meet at Amphi High School to participate, along with their student mentee, in organized group activities. The idea would be to mentor this first group of freshmen through their senior year when possible and is therefore a four-year commitment. The concept is to get students talking about college and their future. Please see the attached brochures for more information.
If you are interested in serving as a mentor, please call (520) 624-2447 or visit www.tucsonbigs.org. Thank you!
