A native Tucsonan, Ana Luisa Terrazas is a graduate of both Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona, where she was the recipient of the Silver Bowl Award for Academic Excellence. After graduating from the UA, she was a news reporter and later became a technical editor for Allied Signal. A program she conceived and wrote for the Del Webb Corporation won a Thousand Points of Light Award from the President of the United States. Before joining the College of Education as director of communications in 2004, Terrazas was an editor of the Arizona Alumnus magazine for the UA Alumni Association. She began working at the UA in 1997 when she was hired as an editor and writer for Continuing Education, where she was named Employee of the Year. Terrazas is a member of the Hispanic Alumni Club and serves on numerous committees at the UA.
