Undergraduate Student Admissions

Applications for admission to our teacher preparation programs are accepted twice a year, on the second Friday of September and the second Friday of February. You MUST meet with a COE academic advisor prior to submitting your application.

In order to meet with an advisor, your first step is to complete the On-Line General Information Session.

Once you have completed the GIS, please contact our office at (520) 621-7865 to schedule an advising appointment.

Students are assigned to an advisor according to the first letter of your last name. The advisors are:
Students with last names beginning A – F:    Nicole Kontak
Students with last names beginning G – P:   Kathleen Humphrey
Students with last names beginning Q – Z     Kerith Lisa

Admission to the teacher preparation programs includes: a minimum 2.5 GPA, documented experience with school-aged children, professional references, an essay, a possible interview, and fingerprint clearance.

We encourage you to sign up for our pre-education listserv, where you will get important messages about our admissions process as well as about involvement opportunities with children. To sign up for the listserv, please e-mail Nicole Kontak at nicoler@email.arizona.edu.
