Dr. Renée Tipton Clift, Associate Dean and Professor of Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies, comes to the University of Arizona from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. She received her undergraduate degree and teacher certification from the University of Florida, her master's degree in Education Administration from Stetson University and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Teacher Education from Stanford University. One of her current projects is a seven-year study of the career paths of thirteen graduates from the University of Illinois English teacher preparation program. Another project is investigating the appropriate uses of technology to support beginning teachers and their mentors. While at Illinois she served as the Director for the Illinois New Teacher Collaborative, a statewide, voluntary consortium of stakeholders who are concerned with recruiting and retaining talented educators for all schools.
