Current Research

My current research focuses on bullying and cyberbullying. I am working with Dr. Jina Yoon (Wayne State University) to analyze data we collected from 236 teachers who viewed streaming video vignettes of three types of bullying incidents. The research questions are "How do teachers and pre-service teachers respond to incidents of middle school bullying? Do those responses vary by type of bullying incident (physical, verbal, or relational), gender and/or race/ethnicity of involved students?"

I am analyzing data collected at a school for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students on cyberbullying. I have just submitted a grant proposal with Dr. Shirin Antia to study bullying and cyberbullying in a large national sample.

I am working with Dr. Noel Card (HDFS) to analyze national data on bullying/victimization, to examine trends over time, and the influences of school context on the prevalence of bullying.
