TEACHING AND ADVISING
 
Professor Anders teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses.  She is primarily responsible for (LRC 435/535) "Content Area Literacy in the Multicultural School,"   a revised "Content Area Reading" course to include writing and multicultural education.  She is also responsible for the (LRC 635) "Reading and Writing in the Content Areas," a course that most of master's students and many doctoral students take. 
She is the Director of the CATS (Creating Academically Talented Students) Literacy Workshop and teaches the LRC 638 “Instructional Laboratory” most summers and falls. Other instructional contributions at the graduate level include, "Foundations of Reading & Writing Instruction,"  "Reading Comprehension and Decoding,"  “Adult Basic Literacy” and “Developmental and Academic Literacy,” and various topical doctoral seminars. 
 
Professor Anders serves as an advisor to 31 Master's Degree students; 3 Ed. Specialist students; 11 doctoral students and serves on the committees of 13 other doctoral students.  Most semesters she directs approximately 5 independent studies and/or internships.
