During 2009-2010 the Professional Preparation Board will be discussing two important current educational issues: Teacher Quality and Equity and Access to Education.

The first panel included Dr. Tom Good, Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Arizona, Dr. Vicki Balentine, Superintendent of Amphitheater Public Schools, and Andrew Morrill, Vice President of the Arizona Education Association.

The recommendations from this panel have been drafted and the final copy is being prepared.

The second panel included Dr. Luis Moll, Professor of Language, Reading and Culture at the University of Arizona, Pete Hershberger, Executive Director, Arizona Center for the Study of Children and Families, and Dr. Augustine Romero, Director of Student Equity, Tucson Unified School District.

This panel is still working on recommendations.

Both sets of recommendations will be available in June 2010.
